Affiliate Marketing Definition

The Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. Affiliate Marketing program was developed to allow website owners and designers to utilize the world wide web to generate income from existing sites through the Pre-Paid Legal business opportunity. Affiliates have the ability to market and promote the Pre-Paid Legal membership through links and from existing websites. For the purposes of the Pre-Paid Legal program, there are two types of affiliates.

1. The Affiliate This is a person who sees the value of providing the content that is available through the affiliate program on his/her website, but does not wish to become an Associate. The content is placed on the affiliate's website by special links sent to them by the Pre-Paid Legal corporate office. These links are sent after an approval has been granted by the Affiliate Marketing Coordinator (see "guidelines for Affiliate Marketing approval" below).

2. The Associate Affiliate - Along with all the benefits of the affiliate the Associate Affiliate is able to make money from his/her links. The Associate Affiliate submits his/her Associate Agreement in the traditional way (online or paper) with his/her $249. Ideally, the affiliate also becomes a member (this is part of the presentation the existing Associate will make). Once an Associate, the Associate Affiliate application can be made. The process is the same as the Affiliate process, with the exception of the final links that will be sent. These links will reflect the new associate website information and allow for all online signups/leads to be processed through the new Associate Affiliate's website.

Who is eligible to become an affiliate? If a person has a website, then they are eligible to apply for the Affiliate program. There is an approval process. Rest assured, as a reputable company, Pre-Paid Legal has deep concerns for how our product is promoted. The application will be considered based on a set of preset guidelines. (See "guidelines for Affiliate Marketing approval" for more information about the approval process.)

The Goal

As a Pre-Paid Legal Independent Associate, why should you pursue recruiting new Associate Affiliates? The majority will find this has the potential to drastically increase organizational building as well as override commissions. Since the new Associate Affiliate is actually a traditional Pre-Paid Legal Associate that happens to own a website that he/she wishes to use to market Pre-Paid Legal, the overrides will be paid as they would on a regular sale. If the Associate Affiliate becomes successful in marketing the Pre-Paid Legal membership and opportunity online, the income potential is virtually limitless.

How does Affiliate Marketing benefit your business?

Affiliates help to drive and retain traffic to Pre-Paid Legal Associate websites. This encourages new enrollment and provides exposure of the opportunity to a larger audience. The company acquires new members, the Associate gets commissions and the consumer gets a low cost legal service plan.

The new Affiliate Marketing program is also designed to keep the process simple and easy to understand for both the new Affiliate and the Associate approaching the website owner.

The Cost

There are two options under the Pre-Paid Legal Affiliate program.

Affiliates have the ability to link to legal and business content on the internet. This content can be presented as a valuable resource for their visitors. This content has the potential to increase repeat traffic to the Affiliate's website. Increased repeated traffic increases the popularity of the site and has the potential to affect other marketing efforts on the site in a positive way. The Affiliate is not eligible to receive income from Pre-Paid Legal with this option.

The Cost: Free

Associate Affiliates have access to everything the Affiliate has. With this option, the Associate Affiliate also has access to all the privileges and opportunities available to our Independent Associates (online and off), including linking to online signup capabilities through our secure server (and being paid a commission on every sale generated from their Pre-Paid Legal website), a personal website with marketing information and flash presentations, online access to monitor the account with us, technical support online and via toll-free access, offline marketing ability, and much more.

This is the option to choose if the affiliate wishes to directly increase the income potential of their website.

The Cost: $249 one time enrollment.
$19.95 monthly eService subscription.
(beginning your second month…your first month subscription is free.)

Guidelines

&

Tips

Reading the guidelines can help prevent unproductive time in contacting a company/owner of a website that we can not approve for the Pre-Paid Legal Affiliate Marketing program. If your submission is approved, you will receive a copy of the email containing the appropriate links. If your submission is denied, you will receive an email with the reasons for denial.

  • Write legibly, type, or apply online. Applications that cannot be read will not be processed.
  • Only one website per application. Applications with more than one website address will not be processed.
  • Include company contacts. This is necessary for delivery of affiliate links once the approval is granted. If you are unable to provide a general and technical contact, we assume that you have not legitimately contacted the company and therefore the application will not be processed.
  • If you are the owner of the company/website, please indicate this on the application and we will be happy to review the site for Affiliate status.
  • Because we respect the privacy of the associates and companies who become affiliates, we will not make a list of approve affiliates available for any purpose.
  • If you are aware of a company or site that you would like to contact but are unsure about the content of their site and would like guidance. We can assist by previewing the site and giving you a brief summary of the sites prospects of becoming a Pre-Paid Legal Affiliate. To request a preview, e-mail your request to: affiliate@pplsi.com. In the subject line of your e-mail, be sure to state: "Affiliate Preview Request". We will try to return the request within 72 hours. Depending on the number of actual Affiliate approval requests we receive, the response to preview requests may be delayed.
